Chadwell St Mary Day Nursery opened in November 2003. The nursery is situated in the grounds of Chadwell St Mary Primary School having formally been the school house. The owner in partnership with Thurrock and helped by funding from the New Opportunities Fund as part of the Neighbourhood Nursery Initiative has been able to double the size by being extended and adapted to provide excellent childcare facilities.
Ground Floor, a community room for parent groups to meet for coffee or meetings, local groups such as childminders to meet and get to know each other. We also have a disabled toilet opposite the community room with changing facilities. A secure door leads you into the nursery, where the manager's office and the three to five year olds room can be found. The children have their own room to encourage independence. Our secure garden area at the rear of the nursery will be in use daily, weather permitting for all age groups. Our aim is integration with the school, children in the term before school will be joining the school children in the playground under the watchful eyes of their Key Workers.
Upstairs, is where our baby room with separate milk room and baby change facilities are situated along with our spacious well equipped under three's room with its own bathroom. Careful thought has gone into the layout and colouring of the nursery rooms to give a welcoming appeal to both parent/carer and child.
We are situated on the bus routes and are within easy distance from Tilbury, Linford, Stanford le Hope, Orsett and Grays.
It is our aim that your child will be cared for in a warm, safe and stimulating environment which will provide a happy and homely atmosphere. We recognise the different needs of individual children and aim to provide for them with a flexible approach. Our staff are fully qualified in child development and will ensure that each child is cared for at a level appropriate to their development. We are committed to an open approach learning that emphasizes first hand experiences; therefore the activities will be planned around the National Curriculum using Early Learning Goals and differentiation for all children. We hope you and your child will have a happy time with us and that as parent/carers as the first educators of their children and we wish to work in partnership with you for the benefit of your child.
